Each year the Latin American Green Awards are held, which consist of determining the best socio-environmental projects in Latin America that align with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. A total of 500 projects made the short list in 10 different categories, with the participation of 38 countries in Latin America presenting a total of 2733 efforts
In the fauna category, the Galapagos Naturalist Guide Network for Conservation Monitoring reached 4th place. For this environmental project, the support and participation of more than 700 qualified naturalist guides in Galápagos was extremely important. They are in charge of supplying information digitally in real time to the Galapagos Park in order to inform what is happening in the 170 visitor sites of the Galapagos Islands.
The commitment of the Galapagos Naturalist Guides to the conservation of the islands is commendable.
