Galapagos will reinforce entrance controls for tourists

Starting next year, the Galapagos Islands will reinforce controls for tourists to prevent them from staying more than the stipulated time.

Among the controls, the Governing Council of Galapagos will require national and foreign visitors to show their round-trip air tickets, also, the hotel reservations of the places where they will stay.

According to the President of the Government Council, it is expected that these controls help to respect local regulations, which establish that a tourist can stay at the Galapagos up to sixty days.

In addition, the Government Council is training the residents of the Galapagos on the rules of the Galapagos National Park that tourists must obey. This trainings will help residents to report or warn the authorities in case a tourist is staying longer than what is allowed, or if they break some other rule.
